In an effort to give songwriters opportunities to grow in their craft I Write the Songs is proud to announce the start of the 2003 Christmas Songwriting Contest. This contest is especially for the amateur songwriter who is looking for an opportunity to have objective comments made concerning each entry.

Registration begins October 15, 2003 and submissions will be accepted until November 30, 2003 (all submissions postmarked after November 30, 2003 will be returned). Winners will be notified on or before December 24, 2003.

Each entry will be judged on lyrics, words, prosody, emotional/commercial impact, originality, and creativity. Each entrant will be sent a critique sheet with comments on each entry they submit.

Judges for the contest are all musical professionals with experience in critiquing material for publishers, record companies, songwriting competitions and workshops. Five finalists will be chosen for the final screening.
Submissions will be accepted until November 30th.
